If it’s easy with any simple decorating app, the ideal would be to use it at this stage.
If not, draw a 1:20 scale drawing (for each meter, use 20 cm of paper) with the measurements of the walls and cut small pieces of paper with the measurements of the furniture you have or will buy. It’s a lot of work, but you’ll get a great view of everything and you’ll see later that it’s so worth it!
If you’re hopeless, move the furniture you’re going to keep, mark future furniture spaces (see measurements in stores on the internet) and think of at least 60 cm for passage.
These attitudes prevent you from buying furniture that doesn’t fit in the room or from cluttering too much.
Don’t forget you’ll need to occupy the walls: Shelves, niches and panels help organize and frames and wallpaper beautify, all using little or no space. But don’t overload. Walls and shelves need empty spaces.
